SURAH ASH SHAMS (THE SUN): AYAH 1-15 (QURAN 91:1-15)

The Sun is the center of our solar system nearly 93 million miles away (150 million Kilometers) from Earth. It is the largest object in our solar system – with the Sun’s mass comprising about 99.86% of the total mass of the entire solar system. The Sun’s volume would need 1.3 million Earths to fill it. It’s gravity holds the solar system together, keeping everything from the biggest planets to the smallest bits of debris in orbit around it. The temperature in the Sun’s core is about 27 million degrees Fahrenheit (15 million degrees Celsius) – hot enough to sustain nuclear fusion. This creates outward pressure that supports the star’s gigantic mass, keeping it from collapsing.

According to NASA –  our Sun is approximately 4.5 billion years old and it is a a hot glowing ball of predominantly hydrogen and helium (over 99%). Roughly three-quarters of the Sun’s mass consists of hydrogen (~74%); the rest is mostly helium (~25%), with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygencarbonneon, and iron.

Hydrogen is the lightest element and at standard conditions hydrogen is a gas of diatomic molecules having the formula H2. It is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and highly combustible. Hydrogen is the chemical element with an atomic number of 1 and is labeled the symbol H on the Periodic Table.

Periodic Table – Note H (1) for Hydrogen and He (2) for Helium

When converting to the arabic language –  “H” in Arabic is the letter “هـ”

Surah 91 is titled Ash Shams (meaning “The sun” in Arabic). It is the only surah out of 114 chapters in the Quran that ends every verse with the letter “هـ” (H).

Entire Surah Ash Sham (91)

The sun is predominantly made of “هـ” (H for Helium). Again –  Surah 91 is titled Ash Shams (meaning “The sun” in Arabic) and It is the only surah out of 114 chapters in the Quran that ends every verse with the letter “هـ” (H). In Surah Ar Ra’D (The Thunder): Verse 3 – Allah (swt) says –  Verily, there are signs/proofs for people willing to ponder/reflect. Indeed there are!
